after saving as 60 quality JPEG in was 1.8MB
This pic at original size is far too big, You are only seeing approx a 1/4 of the image. On a slow bandwidth it may also be slow to upload and is unnecessary
The image is now 40KB

This is a far more suitable size for web layouts. As far as my lazy eye can tell the quality is still there and I can see the entire image.
